Rugged Printers
Steatite Blazepoint have been using their rugged design expertise to provide bespoke rugged printers and mobile printing solutions for military customers since 1982. Utilising Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) print engines and mounting them into custom-made protective enclosures, Steatite Blazepoint's mobile rugged printing solutions have seen action on Navy vessels, used for aircraft ground support, under canvas and even in the open air.
Steatite Blazepoint have successfully developed rugged A4 printers, rugged A3 printers, rugged A0 plotters, rugged dot matrix printers, rugged thermal printers and rugged laser printers.
Products from the range of ndura RUGGED® printers were used in the last Gulf War and have been part of many military projects since. Blazepoint mobile rugged printers play a huge part in the BOWMAN programme, which is providing a £2.2 billion upgrade to the communication networks of UK forces which includes Steatite Blazepoint rugged computing equipment that is fitted into military vehicles, training facilities and Royal Navy vessels.Steatite Blazepoint benefit from having their own test laboratories that are able to test rugged products for Heat, Cold, Humidity, Shock and Vibration. The company also has its own in-house design team which uses 'solid works' 3D design software, this software allows Blazepoint to design, prototype and test products at our Oxford facility, to ensure they meet standards such as MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461 and a given IP rating.
