Can you explain the dye sublimation printing process?

Dye sublimation printing uses a ribbon to produce an image on a plastic card by turning the ribbon into a gas. The gas impregnates the card and generates the image on the solid core of the PVC card.

What is the proper way of using cleaning cards?
  1. Turn off power to printer.
  2. Lift printhead lever and insert the cleaning card. Put printhead lever down after card is inserted.
  3. Enter into head-cleaning mode through the power on switch panel operations.
  4. Refer to user's manual for specific instructions on how to enter the head-cleaning mode.
  5. Once in this mode use the panel switches to move the cleaning card back and forth under the printhead and on the roller.
