Recruitment

• The configuration control and management for Blazepoint products, including bought-in items
• The upkeep of design control documentation, change notes, production support and test configuration.
• The Liaison with Production Engineer on Manufacturing documents and updates.
• Assisting in the preparation of specifications and project plans.
• The preparation and modification of detailed component and assembly drawings
• Taking an active role in reviews with the project team for allocated projects.
• The liaison with Suppliers & Customers in the execution of the projects.
• Communicate with Engineering, Purchasing, Production and Sales departments ensuring all relevant parties are kept up-to-date on project progress.
• Assisting the building of prototype and pre-production units and assist with production documentation and Bills of Materials.
• Assist in testing the design at prototype, pre-production or production stage, in house as required.
• Prepare reports and other project documentation as required.
• Checking of drawings and documents from other areas of the Design Team.
• The update and maintenance of Design data using Autocad and SolidWorks
• Ensure all activities comply with the standards set out in the ISO 9001:2008 manual.

The Company may ask the Product Control Engineer to perform other duties from time to time.
These will be within the general scope of the post.

Profile:

• Graduate in appropriate engineering discipline/QBE
• Relevant experience in a similar role in a similar work environment
• Must be conversant with good Design Office practices
• Must have high level competence in 2D and 3D design software packages

• Prepare conceptual designs and costings for projects.
• Assist in the preparation of specifications and project plans.
• Provide Technical Leadership as needed to ensure project designs perform to their specification.
• Prepare detailed component and assembly drawings for projects.
• Take an active role in reviews with the project team for allocated projects.
• Liaise with Suppliers & Customers in the execution of the projects.
• Communicate with Engineering, Purchasing, Production and Sales departments ensuring all relevant parties are kept up-to-date on project progress.

The Company may ask the Mechanical Design Engineer to perform other duties from time to time. These will be within the general scope of the post.

We need someone with the following skills:

• Design Engineer
• Ability to use SolidWorks
• Some Experience of harsh environments
• Experience of the mechanical design for electronic products

The following skills would be useful if available:

• Technical knowledge of computing
• Knowledge or experience of aircraft maintenance areas
