• All activities related to procurement and planning
• Ensure that Key Performance Indicators are met or exceeded
• Develop strategies to obtain the best possible pricing whilst maintaining the required quality and on time delivery
• Implement and drive continuous improvement activities
• Provide leadership and motivation to the procurement team
• Develop a strategy for quality assessment evaluation of all existing and future suppliers, in conjunction with the Quality Manager
• Identify obsolescence and risk items to ensure continuous supply
• Liaise with other departments to provide procurement advice and support
• Monitor supplier performance, approval and management
• Day to day maintenance and development of the manufacturing system
• Ensure that all documentation and activities comply with the standards set out in the ISO 9001:2008 manual

• Prepare conceptual designs and costings for projects.
• Assist in the preparation of specifications and project plans.
• Provide Technical Leadership as needed to ensure project designs perform to their specification.
• Prepare detailed component and assembly drawings for projects.
• Take an active role in reviews with the project team for allocated projects.
• Liaise with Suppliers & Customers in the execution of the projects.
• Communicate with Engineering, Purchasing, Production and Sales departments ensuring all relevant parties are kept up-to-date on project progress.
• Lead building of prototype and pre-production units and assist with production documentation and Bills of Materials.
• Assist in testing the design at prototype, pre-production or production stage, in house as required.
• Prepare reports and other project documentation as required.
• Checking of drawings and documents from other areas of the Design Team.
• Ensure all documentation and activities comply with the standards set out in the ISO 9001:2008 manual.

Profile:

Degree qualified Mechanical Engineer, with the following skills:
