The AVANTIX® Mobile is an excellent example of Blazepoint’s ability to engineer customised printing solutions. It was developed and manufactured to provide a ticketing solution for the transport and leisure industry.
The AVANTIX® Mobile ticket printer is a small, lightweight, ergonomic device which incorporates a rugged PDA, thermal ticket printer and a magnetic card reader for credit card transactions and ticket verification. The unique AVANTIX® Mobile is capable of producing either plain printed tickets or magnetic encoded tickets where barrier control is in operation.
The AVANTIX® Mobile has been especially designed for applications where it is necessary to issue tickets whilst on the move or when a mains supply is unavailable such as car parking, event ticketing, receipt issue and any other queue busting application requiring battery operation. High quality lithium ion batteries are used to guarantee both long standby and operating times. Quick loading of ticket stock and interchangeable batteries provide continuous operation without any delays.

Ergonomically designed for portable use, the AVANTIX® Mobile uses a rugged Casio PDA — the IT-10 — for intelligence which controls a direct thermal printer with magnetic stripe encoder and a magnetic stripe reader for ISO credit cards and the central stripe on the ticket. A contact Smartcard reader and provision for non contact Smartcards may be fitted as an option. The direct thermal print mechanism provides high quality printing results.
Weighing only 2kg the AVANTIX® Mobile can handle ticket sales by cash or credit card, with receipts or with vouchers. The AVANTIX® Mobile is supported by a practical webbing strap which can be utilised in several ways to suit different operational requirements.
Models with mains operation, RF comms, wireless LAN link, GPRS capability, contact chip card reader interface and contactless card reader can be designed for special applications.
