Stand No 350 at The Emergency Services Show 2008

Blazepoint, a leading name in rugged mobile computing technology, will be using the Emergency Services Show to introduce a range of equipment designed to enhance operational effectiveness and reduce risk in extreme environments and stressful situations. Highlights include a new PDA, 13.3” laptop and two tablet PC’s with applications in a diversity of sectors, from first responders through commercial security to field operatives in energy and utilities.

Blazepoint’s mobile computing technology/capability enables a variety of important functions such as remote reporting and data analysis as well as communication between emergency services. It also reduces time spent on administration, freeing up field personnel for operational duties.

The ruggedisation of the ndura RUGGED® range extends significantly beyond re-engineering of the external housing. It includes internal components, special coatings, sealants and other design features that allow computers to be exposed to extreme temperatures, humidity, sand/dust, water, salt fog, vibration and shock. Blazepoint can also provide products manufactured specifically for use in hazardous or explosive environments.

New ndura RUGGED® Mobile Computing TechnologyThe Blazepoint ndura RUGGED® 3.7” PDA combines ultra rugged design with versatile communication and data capture. The device is capable of fulfilling a range of critical roles, including downloading information gathered in the field into other systems. Features include a low power consumption processor and a rich I/O port array for application expansion. Overall dimensions are 149 x 96 x 42mm and, in its standard form, the device weighs 750g.

The ndura RUGGED® 13.3” laptop has 1 GB RAM processing power as standard and is designed to handle drops, vibration and extreme temperatures. Weighing just 4.1Kg, the unit’s intuitive design makes for easy operation, while a high resolution convertible display ensures clear, sharp images. A range of wireless connections enables continuous communication to be maintained. The unit’s operating temperature range is -20o to +60oC, while battery life is 6+ hours with a re-charge time of 2.5 hours up to 80%.

The ndura RUGGED® 10.4” Tablet PC, with optional GPS or 3G, offers a high level of interconnectivity and platform versatility. The device can be vehicle mounted or man portable. Features include an upgradeable 1.8GHz dual core processor and optional upgradeable modules.

The 7” version combines optimum mobility with low power consumption. Featuring magnesium alloy casing, it weighs a mere 1.15Kg. An optional docking station and accessories further extend functionality.

All these new products are tested against the rigorous requirements of MIL-STD-810F and MIL-STD-461E.
