When you sail a 37 foot boat in the Southern Oceans everything gets wet, and conditions below deck were not brilliant. The crew would climb into Gor‐tex Bivvy bags to dry off and this is really what the laptop was up against.

The thing Pete Goss liked most about the ndura RUGGED® laptop was the feeling of complete confidence it gave him. Making Waves

Blazepoint and ICL worked closely throughout the bid phase of the NavyStar Project. The solution offered by the ICL Team to the MoD drew on the expertise and experiences of ICL, in terms of systems integration and IT infrastructure and Blazepoint, in terms of IT ruggedisation in extended environments. On the award of the NavyStar contract Blazepoint undertook the task of designing mounting systems for the IT hardware, which included the PC workstations, TFT screens, workgroup printers, line printers and hubs. The basis of the ruggedisation for the project was the requirement to be highly compact, flexible, ergonomic and meet stringent standards in an unusual operating environment.

HP Deskjet Printers see Military Action Thanks to Blazepoint

Technology has a vital role to play in the work of today’s armed forces but most traditional IT equipment is totally unable to withstand the rigours of military operations or battlefield conditions.
